In Honour of Sonali Khaleghpanah
August 5, 1968 to June 1, 2021
Born on August 5th, 1968 Sonali began her karate journey when she was only 14 year olds. Throughout her karate career she took part in many full-contact competitions and tournaments. When she moved to Canada in 1998, it was not long until she obtained her membership with the OKF where she would compete within their tournaments as well and get involved with the Ontario Karate Federation's National Team.
Both her sons, Amir and Aryan Khaleghpanah, had followed in their mother's footsteps and became national comptitors themselves within the Ontario Karate Federation.
Sonali volunteered as team manager for many karate competitions, achieved her 4th degree in Goju Ryu Karate, was the kindest soul you could ever meet, and many knew her as their mom or best friend. She was someone who never asked for anything but deserved everything. She will be forever loved and missed.
It is a great loss to the OKF and the other members of our organization. She will truly be missed. She was always there and was such a wonderful, loving, kind, and happy person; so much so we still feel her with us today.
And on behalf of the Ontario Karate Federation, we wish to honour her legacy and we will never forget all of her hard work and dedication towards all of the athletes throughout the year.
May she rest in peace.
President of the Ontario Karate Federation
